What is the Summit for Courageous Conversation?
- A two and one-half day conference for educators interested in building equity that focuses on practical applications for Courageous Conversation, Critical Race Theory, Organizational Learning, Systems Thinking and Equity/Anti-Racist Leadership.
- A two-day pre-Summit that includes either an introduction to Courageous Conversation About Race or a service learning project in communities devastated by Hurricane Katrina.
How will the Summit work?
- Scholars-in-residence, expert-led sessions, lectures and keynotes
- Engaging "fishbowl" conversations about race by practitioners
- Sharing of captivating "racial autobiographies"
- Examination of case studies, best practices, action research and policy
- On-site, high-tech, virtual learning platform for reflection, networking and activism that continues post-conference
- Student panels and performances
