We invite you to join us in New Orleans for the first annual national Summit for Courageous Conversation! Join dedicated anti-racist educators and equity leaders from throughout the nation in an engaged, deepened, and sustained conversation on the impact of race on today's students.
The Summit convenes at the New Orleans Marriott on Sunday, September 28, 2008, and ends on Wednesday, October 1, 2008. For more information and to register, please click on the Welcome, Overview, Keynote, Session, and Registration links above. Please register soon as space is limited! Online registration ends September 15, 2008. On-site registration will be available at the Summit.
We sincerely apologize for our negligence in scheduling the National Summit to coincide with the religious holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Ramadan. Unfortunately, we were unable to change the dates once scheduled. We deeply regret this act of religious insensitivity and pledge to you that we will not allow it to happen again.
In order to build common language and understanding, we ask that all Summit participants have attended a Beyond Diversity workshop, or read the book Courageous Conversation About Race by Glenn Singleton and Curtis Linton. If you have not attended the workshop or read the book, please join us at the Pre-Summit Beyond Diversity Institute. Learn more about the Pre-Summit Institute, and Pre- and Post-Summit Equity Leadership in Service Learning Projects by clicking on the Pre/Post-Summit link above. Please register for Pre- and Post-Summits soon as space is limited!
We look forward to seeing you in New Orleans as we engage in Courageous Conversation. March with us together in achieving racial equity and excellence in education!
